Lifelogging : remember to forget

What is the goal of lifelogging ? To record and archive all information in one’s life. It includes all text, picture, audio, video as well as all biological data from sensors on one’s body. The life logger can archive the information but also share it with others. Life logging is not a brand new occupation : in the 1990s Steve Mann at MIT outfitted himself with a head-mounted camera and recorded his daily life on video tape. Talking to a man wearing a camera half-obscurcing his face was probably odd at this time. But what about today ? In 2013, a swedish company launched the « Memoto Camera ». A 1.5 inch large camera which records two pictures every minute. You clip to your jacket and here you go. At the end of the end you get not less than 2.000 pictures of your meal, your desk and especially your computer screen. Let’s take a step back : is taking more than 2’000 pictures of your day makes you smarter, or happier ? Does it impact your memory ? Do you really want to watch and recollect every moment of your day as Funès, the Borges character ? What if the secret of memory is to forget wisely ? Gather, structure and exploit every memory substrates as your photos or videos, this is the challenge of PERFECT MEMORY. Meet us at the CES, booth 81241 ...

Perfect Memory’s Semantic Data Management Platform spotted by american media influencer

Earlier this month, Herve Utheza, CEO of Utheza Media Advisory, released a post on Nscreenmedia about broadcasting. Entitled “Broadcasting is dead, long live “broad-net-casting”, this article is a pamphlet about the future of Broadcasting. Based on thoughts about the last IBC Show in Septembre, the review shows a short term glimpse on Broadcasting. Perfect Memory is quoted as a brilliant example of software solution about digital asset management, as Herve Utheza says : “In the minor halls, smaller vendors had a different focus. They were promoting software-only solutions and tools to manage exponentially growing vaults of digital media. One which attracted my attention was Perfect Memory, with a fantastic platform-architected solution using “semantics” and “ontology” to perform media asset search and management. Simply put, the system helps to find something when a user doesn’t remember the name or title of the show or movie he is searching for”. The whole article is available on nscreenmedia.com. As a reminder, between 2012 and 2014, the Mediamap+ team thought then developed an application system which enables a dynamic, low-threshold and cost-effective media production ecosystem. Perfect Memory shared its technologic skills and especially its semantic middleware in order to respond to the data communication problem. Steny Solitude, CEO of PERFECT MEMORY states: “Each time professionals think in a creative way of a multimedia database, they could need our semantic connector. Moreover, the same architecture allows others connectors as ‘players’ to reformulate and push multimedia contents toward existing distribution platforms. Thanks to the semantic approach, the platforms strains contents depending on input or output profile. “ Indeed, PERFECT MEMORY owns one of the most advanced solutions for the Entertainment and Media Contents Technology. It respects the FIMS (Framework for Interoperable Media Services) standard. Allowing a two level convergence: professions and data sources; the platform strongly simplifies information access for all users and boosts the traction of enhanced catalogues. Steny Solitude concludes: ”In a multipolar world, where both information sources and media consumption platforms are multiple; system interoperability is now a crucial issue. Therefore, our ambition is to become both an essential tool for multimedia distribution and a new form of Business Intelligence”. More informations on Mediamap+ are available here.
